The H2Bus consortium begins deployment of 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell electric buses in European cities at competitive prices. In addition, the company has signed an agreement with the Northern Irish bus manufacturer Wrightbus for the supply of hydrogen-powered vehicles, h2-view reports.
This proposal is believed to be the most cost-effective and affordable option in the production of zero-emission vehicles.
As part of the implementation of the first phase of the project, EUR 40 million will be allocated from the Connecting Europe Facility. The financing will allow to deploy up to 200 hydrogen buses (as well as auxiliary infrastructure) in Denmark, Great Britain and Latvia by 2023.
