The European Union Delegation is ready to support the reform of the Ukraine’s coal industry. This issue was discussed during the first meeting between Acting Energy and Environmental Protection Minister of Ukraine Olha Buslavets and Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, the press center of the Ministry of Energy reports.

Buslavets noted that the issue of reforming mines in “single-industry towns”, whose population is completely dependent on their work, is relevant at the moment.

“We want to use the experience of European and other countries that have managed to successfully solve similar problems,” said the acting Minister of Energy.

The negotiations on support from Germany, the World Bank and other international partners are currently underway.
