The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine said that Russia has made another attempt to undermine the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
It is noted that on November 4, 2020, Russia simplifying the procedure for the recognition by the Russian Federation of documents and vehicle registration plates issued to citizens of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as to persons permanently residing in them.
“We expect that Russia will refrain from actions that contradict the Minsk Agreements and prevent the full reintegration of non-government-controlled territories in Ukraine, and, instead, fully fulfill its obligations in accordance with the Minsk Agreements,” the EU stressed.
For example, in 2019, the European Commission and the European External Action Service published clarifications on the procedure for considering visa applications submitted by residents of non-government-controlled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Its purpose is to ensure respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the proper and consistent application of EU rules regarding Schengen visas to Russia and Ukraine.
“The European Union remains steadfast in its support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” the Delegation stressed.
