The European Union welcomes the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh and is ready to support the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs for a broad and sustainable settlement in the region. This is stated in the statement of EU High Representative Josep Borrell, published on the website of the European External Action Service.

“I welcome the end of hostilities in and around Nagorno-Karabakh. The ceasefire achieved with the help of Russia, which was agreed on Monday between Armenia and Azerbaijan, will help prevent further loss of lives and will, hopefully, be the first step towards a broad settlement,” Borrell said.

Recall, on November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the signing of a joint statement with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
