Experts: RIA Novosti published propaganda aimed against Ukraine’s statehood

Articles published by RIA Novosti Ukraine were in fact propaganda, directed against the statehood of Ukraine.

This is stated in the conclusions of linguistic expertise, which the prosecutor read in the Podilsk District court of Kyiv in the case of former editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti News Agency, Kirill Vyshinsky, who is being tried on treason charges and subversive information activities aimed against Ukraine.

So, after the decision to extend the Vyshinsky’s term in remand until July 22, the court continued to hear the indictment, which was read out by the prosecutor, UNIAN informs.

The prosecutor says the publication on the RIA Novosti were propaganda designed to impose on readers the impression that Ukraine is under external control, citizens are divided into irreconcilable camps, the country is incapable of winning the war, and Russia is an invincible state.

In addition, according to the expertise, the articles on the RIA Novosti claimed that residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts had the right to self-determination and voluntarily decided to secede from Ukraine.

It is known that prosecutors read 63 out of the 78 pages of the indictment.

The announcement of the act is planned to being completed at the next meeting of the court scheduled on May 30 at 1715 pm.
