The Facebook administration has removed 97 Facebook accounts, Pages and Groups emanating from Russia. This is reported on the Facebook blog.

In total, 62 accounts, 10 pages and 25 groups were deleted. The indicated groups and pages spread fakes and were focused on topics relating to the situation in Ukraine, Russian politics, and the Syrian civil war.

It is noted that the individuals behind this campaign disseminated  untruthful information on the social network and used fake accounts to manage pages and groups, distribute their content and increase user engagement, as well as to attract them to transition to other sites.

In addition, the administration decided to delete 21 Instagram accounts involved in coordinated inauthentic behavior as part of a small network emanating from Russia that focused on Austria, the Baltics, Germany, Spain, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

As The Journalist reported, Facebook removed accounts of several American Alt-right figures.
