German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said, that the The Federal Government of Germany supports the implementation of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported, FM Maas made this statemant during the press conference with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in Moscow.
«Nord Stream -2 is a private commercial project and it is supported by the Federal Government», – said Mr Maas.
«The Government of the Russian Federation, and Gazprom stated, that the certain amount of transit through Ukraine will remain, but it must be economically justified, not politically imposed», – Lavrov said.
«We are ready for such a consultations with the Ukrainian side, and today we told about this to our German colleagues», – Mr Lavrov added.
As «The Journalist» reported, Poland started an investigation against the Nord Stream-2 sponsors.
