The first batch of the Remdesivir drug for treatment of coronavirus will arrive in Ukraine in the near future, the Ministry of Health said.
According to Ihor Ivashchenko, Deputy Minister of Health for European Integration, State Enterprise Medical Procurement of Ukraine signed relevant agreement.
“In the near future, the first batch of the drug will arrive in Ukraine – about 14,000 bottles. The general procurement procedure provides for the purchase of 28,200 units of the drug for the treatment of 4,700 hospitalized covid patients,” Ihor Ivashchenko said.
The drug is included in clinical protocols for the provision of medical care for the treatment of coronavirus and can be used only in cases provided for by this protocol and is widely used for emergency use in the USA, Japan, Australia, EU countries (France, Spain, Croatia, Romania, etc.).
