Political strategist Viktor Ukolov said the Free Trade Area (FTA) agreement between Ukraine and Israel threatens to worsen Ukraine’s relations with the Arab world.

“A number of signed documents is not the merit of the current government. Because they have probably been preparing for more than one month, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has done a great job. The visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Israel was delayed at one time. Perhaps these documents were ready to be signed when Groisman was supposed to visit Israel. The working visit did not take place, and the documents were not signed. Secondly, there is a danger of deterioration in Ukraine’s relations with the Arab states we are working with on the development, for example, of an Antonov [An] aircraft. They buy weapons from us, we buy weapons from them. That is, I would not really want to worsen relations with the Arab world,” Ukolov said on the air of the Priamy TV channel.

According to the political consultant, “Benjamin Netanyahu is solving the Israel’s internal problems and problems of his election campaign, amid the  upcoming elections in Israel.”

“There are many immigrants from Ukraine – both Ukrainians and Russians by citizenship, who are Jews. They will appreciate the fact Netanyahu came here and will vote, perhaps, for him. From the other side, Netanyahu’s visit is another fact that Ukraine has completely recovered from anti-Semitism,” Ukolov said.

As The Journalist reported, Netanyahu said FTA agreement with Ukraine to be ratified after Knesset elections.
