The Ambassadors of the G7 countries (USA, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Germany and Japan) in Ukraine welcomed the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of a law on improving the mechanisms for regulating banking activities.
“The G7 ambassadors congratulate the Verkhovna Rada and Administration on passing banking legislation that will strengthen Ukraine’s economy and promote deeper international economic and commercial ties,” the statement reads.
On May 13, the Parliament adopted a bill on banking legislation, necessary for approving a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Some 270 MPs backed at the second reading the corresponding bill “On introducing amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine to improve certain mechanisms for the regulation of banking activities.”
As you know, the law establishes the impossibility of returning insolvent banks to their former owners.
