The ambassadors of the G7 countries have welcomed the preliminary findings of the OSCE international observer mission on the holding of the first round of presidential elections in Ukraine, organization reports on Twitter.

They also called on presidential candidates and their teams to act in accordance with the law during the preparation and holding of the second round of elections.

“G7 Ambassadors welcome the OSCE and Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights preliminary conclusions and note that the first round of the presidential elections in Ukraine on 31 March 2019 was competitive and held in a generally peaceful and secure atmosphere,” the message said.

As The Journalist reported, the OSCE stated that the absence of Russian observers at elections in Ukraine does not affect the legitimacy of monitoring.
