Gas quality in Ukraine in May was 8.5% higher than state standard – Ukrtransgaz

The weighted average heat of combustion of natural gas, which was supplied to consumers in Ukraine in May 2019, is 8.5% higher than the standard figure of 7,600 kcal per cubic meter and amounted to 8,234 kcal per cubic meter, as the Ukrtransgaz SE, Ukraine’s gas transmission system operator, stated.

According to the company, residents of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast received the most high-calorific gas – 8,373 kcal per cubic meter, followed by Donetsk Oblast – 8,368 kcal and Poltava Oblast – 8,284 kcal.

At the same time, the lowest calorific value of gas, but still above the norm, was transferred to the Lviv Oblast  – 8,122 kcal per cubic meter, Luhansk Oblast – 8,156 kcal per cubic meter and Volyn Oblast – 8,204 kcal per cubic meter.

It is known that conclusions about the gas quality for Ukrainian consumers are based on analyses of all physical and chemical indicators for May 2019, through the system of Ukrtransgas JSC main gas pipelines.
