Baltic Pipe will cover 275 km according to the chosen route from Denmark to Poland. This is reported by the «Polskie Radio».
As it became known, Gaz-System has chosen the preferred route for pipeline. It will deliver gas under the sea and go ashore at a site called Faxe South in Denmark and Niechorze-Pogorzelica in Poland.
«The selected route has been analysed and picked over other possible route options, primarily assessing in consideration environmental, technical and socio-economic aspects. Now it will be possible to start design work to choose the optimal way of laying the pipeline along the seabed», – the message said.
It is expected that the pipeline will carry 10 billion cubic metres of natural gas to Poland annually.
It is noted that construction work is scheduled to start in April 2020 and take about two years to complete, with the official launch of the new gas link planned for October 2022.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Ukraine will be able to receive gas from the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP).
