President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili called on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to combine the positions of countries regarding the course towards European integration and NATO membership.

According to the press service of the head of state, Zurabishvili said this at a meeting with Zelensky.

Zurabishvili wished Zelensky success as president of Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian state emphasized his priorities.

“Why did our team go into politics?” The number one task for us is a cease-fire in the eastern Ukraine, where we lose people every day,” Zelensky noted.

He noted that Ukraine will continue a consistent foreign policy course aimed at restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity and further developing European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Also one of the challenges for Ukraine is a victory over corruption.

“In this issue, the Georgia’s experience is an example for us,” Zelensky added.

The parties discussed the directions of development of the Ukrainian-Georgian relations and expressed confidence in further deepening the strategic partnership.

In addition, Zurabishvili invited Zelensky to make an official visit to Georgia.

As The Journalist reported, United States is waiting for the joint work with the new President Volodymyr Zelensky.
