Germany leads Council of the EU

On July 1, Germany led the Council of the European Union, which was presided by Croatia earlier. This was reported by the press service of the European Union.

The German presidency of the Council of the EU will focus directly on overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. Fighting the spread of the virus, supporting the European economy to recover and reinforcing social cohesion in Europe. In order to achieve this, Germany is committed to joint approved action, European solidarity and common values.

Recall that every 6 months the presidency of the Council is changed by EU member states. The state that leads the Council will work closely with two other countries to establish long-term goals and a joint agenda.
