NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Georgia will gain membership in the Alliance, but did not specify the time.
According to the Alliance website, the Secretary General said this at a joint press conference with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, within the framework of a two-day summit with the participation of the heads of state and government of NATO member states in Brussels.
«We fully support the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Georgia. Georgia will become a NATO member. The leaders of the Allied countries confirmed this. We will continue to work with Georgia in her preparations towards membership,» – Stoltenberg stressed.
According to him, the Alliance is amazed by the significant progress on reforms which Georgia has made.
As «The Journalist» reported, NATO did not recognize the annexation of Crimea.
