Head of the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the fields of energy and utilities (NERC) Oksana Kryvenko has stated that Ukrainians did not suffer loss from the introduction of the «Rotterdam +» formula, according to which the cost of coal in the electricity tariffs was calculated on the basis of the European API2 index.
Mrs Kryvenko said this on the air of the New Time Radio.
Answering a question about whether the Ukrainians suffered loss from the «Rotterdam +» formula, Kryvenko noted: «Firstly, I do not think so. Secondly, why then is UAH 1.4 billion allocated to support state mines? This is shows what? It shows the fact that the price on coal which is sold by state mines is even higher than the price that is determined by the formula.»
The Head of the NERC added that the formula regulation is a deterrent from the unjustified overestimate of the price on generation of electric energy.
