Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs, Hanna Hopko, said that the abolition by the Constitutional Court of the article of the Criminal Code on illegal enrichment poses a risk to a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union.

“Obviously, such a decision of the Constitutional Court’s judges threatens, in particular, a visa-free regime, since this is one of the requirements for granting Ukraine visa liberalization with the EU,” said the parliamentarian.

“Here we must honestly say that the Constitutional Court for all the years of Ukraine’s independence has always made very strange political decisions not in line with interests of the state,” UNIAN quotes Hanna Hopko, as saying.

As The Journalist reported, all criminal cases on illegal enrichment in Ukraine can be closed amid Constitutional Court decision.
