U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke during a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, where he said that he visited the east of Ukraine and was familiarized with the consequences of Russia’s invasion.
«The invasion of Russia into Ukraine and its criminal annexation of Crimea is too often ignored by the rest of the world. If you could give more weight to this issue in any way, I would be very grateful to you», – responded Congressman Steve Chabot to Mike Pompeo’s statement
Pompeo mentioned his trip to Ukraine during his service in the CIA,as reported by Voice of America.
«The last work visit I made in Ukraine was the trip to Donbas, where I saw the challenges which Ukraine and its people faced with. This is a very serious problem. Russians annexed one-fifth of the Ukraine’s territory. We must never forget that this was happened», – Mr Pompeo added.
As «The Journalist» reported, RF made the east of Ukraine the most dangerous place for Russian speakers in the world.
