Greece is suspected in illegitimate distribution of money for refugees support, allocated by EU

The Athens Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation on suspicions of misuse of EU funds, received as aid in order to overcome the effects of the migration crisis in Greece. This is reported by the Prothotema news agency.
According to information, a judicial investigation has begun because of the publications in Greek editions, which claiming that the EU money that intended to solve problematic issues relating to refugees, are unlawfully distributing. A preliminary investigation should determine the nature of complaints and possible misconduct.
It is noted that the prosecutor’s office has already begun to call witnesses; among them Lieutenant-General Andrea Eliopoulos, the Former Director of the agency for refugee issues.
