Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated that Ukraine’s economy is currently showing growth for eleven consecutive quarters and is balanced, but the state needs external support to pass peak payments on past debts that were taken in 2008-2013 . «Eleven consecutive quarters, the economy is growing. This means that the rise began. In principle, if you look at the needs of the state, everything is fine, we are balanced. But if you look at the debts, you need external support to refinance, to return the old debts. 2019-2021 are peak payout years», said Groysman.
According to the prime minister, now money of external creditors is taken under fulfillment of certain obligations, therefore you need to do this to return their trust.
In addition, Groysman noted that government is obliged to prevent development of scenario of rejection of previous promises, which will lead to a protracted crisis.
«We remember the 90s: bankruptcy of the country, galloping inflation. This cannot be allowed again», the premier stressed.
