Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this on the air of one of the TV channels, according to the government portal.
«Excessive increase in tariffs for heat and water against the background of rising gas prices is a fraud and an attempt to cash in on people, and the responsibility to hang on someone else. When I hear that tariffs for heat and water can grow by 70%, I have a question: why should this happen? People need to understand that the issue of gas prices is important for the formation of tariffs. But we considered: if gas went up by 23% (up to UAH 8550 per thousand cubic meters – ed.), then heat tariffs should be raised by no more than 16%», the head of government emphasized.
Prime Minister added that citizens who find it difficult to pay the real price for gas and utilities will protect the subsidy program.
Note that Kyivteploenergo offers from December 1, 2018 to increase the tariff for the production of heat energy at its CHP plants for the needs of the population by 32% – up to UAH 1038.8 per 1 Gcal.
As reported by «Journalist», November 8, KP "Heat supply of Odessa" which serves 2/3 residents of the city, announced its intention to increase tariffs for heat supply for the population by 72% – up to 53 UAH per square meter.
