As The Journalist reported, CEC blocked elections in united territorial communities.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman decision of Central Election Commission to refuse to hold elections in the united territorial before submitting clarifications from the Parliament’s legal committee on the possibility of appointing local elections without holding a local referendum to support the voluntary unification of territorial communities, creates the risk of inhibiting the process of decentralization in the state.

«The other day CEC adopted decision that made it impossible to hold elections in newly united communities in October. This decision creates risk of inhibition of decentralization, which today is one of the most successful and demanded reforms», Groysman said.

Prime minister stressed that it was for the sake of decentralization that he came to work in the government in 2014, because he was and remains convinced: «decentralization is the way to create quality living conditions in every city and village of Ukraine».

«More than 6 million Ukrainians became convinced of effectiveness of this reform, who became residents of the united communities and received powers, resources, and therefore opportunities – to develop their territory and improve their welfare», Groysman said.
