Today, on June 19, at the government meeting on the proposal of the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman, the issue will be considered regarding reducing by 50% district and regional state administrations from January 1, 2020. This was stated by the Prime Minister on the air of the ICTV “Freedom of Speech”, as Uriadovy Portal reports.

“I am submitting a proposal to consider a possible reducing the regional and district administrations by 50%. And the next parliament should deprive the president and the government their right to appoint leaders by giving this right to the people. This is a new management approach and new opportunities for self-management. It should be a community priority (electing leaders – ed.) it’s up to them to decide who their leaders will be”, said Vladimir Groisman.

The head of government stressed that only the representatives of the old centralized system can be afraid of such changes.

“I’m not afraid of the old system, I know how to break its spine”, Groisman added.
