Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine banned the payment of bonuses and rewards in state companies.

Such a decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, July 18th. A similar proposal was made by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

«I believe and support the idea that salaries should be worthy, bonuses should be worthy, so that people do not engage in corruption and so on. But as for greed and excessive, some fantastic figures that are planned or proposed to be paid, I cannot support this. The owner of state-owned companies is the Ukrainian people», the prime minister said.

Groysman stressed that he considers service to the state a great challenge and privilege, while he called on state officials not to lose touch with reality.

«I respect corporate governance, and the independence of supervisory boards. But I ask you to respect the Ukrainian people, to perceive reality, and not to live somewhere beyond the clouds», the head of government said.

Groysman’s proposal was supported unanimously by the members of the government, after which he instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to issue a draft decision and file it for signature.

As «Journalist» reported Ukraine did not receive money from Gazprom, and employees of Naftogaz received half a billion premiums.
