Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said he could initiate the resignation of the Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev if gas prices for the population do not decrease below the fixed price of UAH 8.55 per cubic meter until April 24.
This was stated by the head of government today, April 17, at a government meeting.
“Naftogaz-Ukraine should set the price lower than UAH 8.55 [per one cubic meter – ed.] since May 1. By April 24, Naftogaz must announce that the market price will be set below UAH 8.55 per one cubic meter. Otherwise, I initiate resignation of Naftogaz CEO and I will ask the Government to support me. I am already fed up with this, like millions of Ukrainians, when the private interests of the company’s management are put above the national ones,” the prime minister said.
“All government decisions must be implemented. If someone who works in the national company does not agree with this – he may search for work in another sphere,” Groysman added.
As The Journalist reported, the executive director of Naftogaz, Vitrenko, headed the Supervisory Board of Ukrnafta.
