Ukraine has an alternative action plan in case Russia will stop gas transit via territory of Ukraine from January 1, 2020.
This was announced on Friday (April 12) by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at the Hour of Questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada.
“Certainly, there is plan B in case Russia will resort to other actions (for example, it will stop supplying fuel). The issue is rather complicated and critical. I believe that Nafogaz of Ukraine and its management are quite far from the implementation of the plan, approved by the government on July 1, 2016, regarding separation of the gas transportation system into a separate legal structure that will comply with European legislation,” the head of government said.
At the same time, the prime minister did not specify any details on alternative plan of action.
As The Journalist reported, Naftogaz undisclosed backup plan details in event of termination of Russian gas transit.
