Georgia officially cut diplomatic relations with Syria

In connection with the fact that Syria officially recognised the independence of occupied Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Georgia has started procedures to cut diplomatic relations with the Syrian Arab Republic. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The report notes that Georgia officially informed the United Nations about the severance of diplomatic relations with Syria.

«Georgia believes that such a decision was made in Syria in a result of the manipulation from the Russian Federation. The corresponding decision is ignoring the international legal obligations on observance of territorial integrity of the sovereign states and inviolability of borders», – the message said.

As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Syria officially recognised the independence of occupied Georgia regions.
