The Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) has signed an interconnection agreement with Slovak operator Eustream.

Under the terms of the contract based on European rules, the parties will operate at the Budince and Uzhgorod-Velke Kapusany points from January 1, 2020.

Thus, the Ukrainian GTS operator has signed agreements with all interconnection operators from Poland, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Slovakia and Russia.

“All the necessary technical and legal grounds for the successful start of the work of the independent Ukrainian GTS Operator, as well as for the continuation of Russian gas transit through the Ukrainian GTS to European countries from January 1, 2020, have been created,” the report says.

The interconnection agreement between GTSOU and Gazprom operators was included in the package of agreements necessary for the extension of gas transit through Ukraine until 2025.

Accordingly, Naftogaz signed a settlement agreement with Gazprom on gas transit for five year.
