Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido informed on Twitter that he signed the document on behalf of the country’s president. The decision concerns the supply of humanitarian aid.
“As Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian armed forces, I confirm again the permission for humanitarian aid to enter Venezuela and order individual units of the Armed Forces to act in accordance with this permission,” the document says.
The politician also published corresponding text of the decree No. 001 on Twitter. It states that Venezuela’s borders remain open. Juan Guaido also called on military not to impede the flow of humanitarian aid.
With this decision, Guaido canceled the order of Nicolas Maduro to close the land border with Brazil, and also left unchanged the relations with Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, which Guaido’s opponent intends to reconsider.
