To Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the samples brought from the asteroid by the Hayabusa-2 probe contained gravel material. The published data claim the size of some samples reaches about one centimeter. It is reported by NHK.
JAXA plans to devote the next six months or so to compiling a catalog of samples before beginning detailed analysis.
The capsule itself, which contained soil samples from the Ryugu asteroid, landed in the desert region of Australia on December 6.
