Acting Finance Minister Oksana Markarova held a meeting with the Head of the IMF mission Ron van Roden and the permanent representative of the IMF in Ukraine, Goesta Ljungman. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
«The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the main aspects of the country’s economic policy. The sides also considered further steps in the framework of bilateral cooperation, including the possibility of receiving financial assistance for maintaining of the macroeconomic stability,» – the report said.
According to Markarova, the successful implementation of the program of cooperation with the IMF will facilitate the implementation of key structural reforms that are a priority for the Government, and continue of cooperation will improve the country’s image and create prerequisites for attracting the funds of other international partners.
«The IMF mission visit is a positive signal to the Ukraine – Fund relations. We have already fulfilled most of the obligations to the IMF in the framework of the current cooperation program,» – the Acting Minister of Finance said.
