Yanukovych invited to Kyiv to speak in court with the final word

Obolonskiy District Court on October 12, at 10:00 am, the former President Viktor Yanukovych’s speech will take place with the final word in the case of committing treason.

In turn, Oleksandr Goroshinsky, a lawyer who has recently joined Yanukovych’s defense, said his client is ready to speak with the last word in court, but he wants this speech to take place in a videoconference mode and was organized with the help of an international legal request from Ukraine to Russia.
In response, presiding judge of the case, Judge Vladyslav Devyatko, recalled that, according to Criminal Procedure Code, Yanukovych must speak at judicial debate before his defense lawyers, UNIAN.

At the same time, judge said that Yanukovych will have the opportunity to speak with the last word in court, but not through a procedure for requesting Russia, but as witnesses in the case, that is, without mediation of Russian authorities.
