Japan decided to build two military bases in order to protect itself from possible China claims in the disputed territorial waters. It became known that the work on the construction of an outpost on the island of Ishigaki will start in 2019. This is reported by 112.Ukraine referring the Sankei Shimbun inform agency.
The rocket troops unit will be deployed on the island to restrain the China’s expansion in the region. According to the preliminary estimates, the garrison on the territory of the base will be consisted of 500-600 military specialists who will serve anti-ship and surface-to-air missiles.
In addition, the construction of the second military base will begin on Miyako Island in the spring of 2019.
Japan is also intends to install American Aegis Ashore missile defense systems in order to be protected against possible DPRK attacks, as well as plans to create a new generation fighter-bomber in cooperation with Lockheed Martin.
As The Journalist reported, Japan will no longer provide economic assistance to China.
