EBRD appoints new managing director for Ukraine

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), has appointed Matteo Patrone as its new Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus instead of Francis Malige.

This is reported by the press service of the EBRD.

«Matteo Patrone will work in Kyiv and will be responsible for the following group of countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. He will replace Francis Malige, who was the first managing director in the region and was recently appointed as managing director in the sector of financial institutions at EBRD headquarters in London,» – it was reported.

According to the report, Mr Patrone is a citizen of Italy. He started working in London office of the EBRD in 2008 in the corporate investment department, where he came after a successful career in the private sector. In 2012, he headed the EBRD office in Serbia, and in 2015 he was appointed as the director and regional head of the EBRD in Romania and Bulgaria. Under his leadership, EBRD investments in these countries amounted to more than EUR 2 billion. Patrone will take up his duties on November 1, 2018.
