The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) expected the Ukrainian economy to grow by 3.5 % instead of 3% previously forecasted.

According to the press service of the EBRD with reference to the latest report, the Ukrainian economy outlook has been improved thanks to the resumption of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.

«Approval and implementation of a new standby agreement with the International Monetary Fund would help Ukraine to address her near-term external financing needs and to maintain macroeconomic stability throughout the electoral cycle in 2019,» the report says.

The EBRD expects the Ukrainian economy to grow by 3% in 2019, as before.

It is noted that the repayment of a significant part of public debt in foreign currency falls on 2018-2019 period, which creates risks for this forecast.

The report also notes that the volatility of the exchange rate was under control this year, despite some seasonal deviations.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine took 71st place in the Doing Business rating.
