The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogerini, says the European Union supports a meeting between Presidents of the United States of America and Russia to be held in Helsinki on July 16. The European Union hopes that this meeting will be aimed at achieving good results.
Mrs Mogherini announced this before the summit of the heads of state and government of the European Union in Brussels, Segodnya.ua reported.
«We have always been supportive for dialogue and negotiations. You know, the European Union have always been in favor of interaction and dialogue every time it is aimed at achieving good results», – The EU High Representative said.
Note that, according to Reuters, US Presidents Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting in Helsinki on July 16.
«Leaders will discuss US-RF relations and a number of national security issues», – the message said.
As «The Journalist» reported, US does not recognize the annexation of Crimea and insists sanctions against the RF should remain in force.
