Swiss non-governmental organisations (NGO) will no longer receive funding from the European Union, BBC reported.

It is noted that Swiss agencies will no longer be eligible for funding. The reason for this is the lack of legal grounds for awarding money for organisations based in states outside the Union. The European Commission sent letters to ten Swiss NGOs. Among them – Caritas Switzerland, which is now implementing "The quality of education and protection of children" program in Syria, EUR 1.2 million worth.
Note that the EU allocated about EUR 50 million to organizations per year.
