Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said that Ukraine is not progressing towards fulfilling necessary conditions for receiving EUR 50 million under the «Reforms Contract for Investment» plan, Strana.ua reported.
«I can’t hide my disappointment over the «Reforms Contract for Investment» сontract, which dealt with assistance of EUR 50 million. Unfortunately, it fulfilled only one condition. We could use EUR 10 million, but the rest of EUR 40 million are lost. We cannot be pleased with this situation,» Khan said.
Recall, «Reforms Contract for Investment» offered Kyiv access to a new EU financial instrument. To participate in the project, Ukraine had to fulfill three conditions: to ensure the independence of the energy regulator (NERC), to ensure the full functioning of the business ombudsperson, to cancel requirements for electronic declaration for anti-corruption activists.
