European Court of Human Rights accepted the complaint of Ukrainian Oleg Sentsov

European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) accepted the complaint of the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, illegally convicted in Russia, for consideration, said the head of international human rights group Agora Pavlo Chikov.

«Another super news. ECHR communicated (officially reported on the complaint to Commissioner of the Russian Federation for European Court of Human Rights – ed.) about the case of Oleg Sentsov. The court linked his complaint with the case of Ukraine against Russia about the annexation of the Crimea. Our lawyer is Natasha Dobreva», Chikov said.

In a complaint filed with the ECHR, Sentsov stated that the Russian authorities violated Art. 3 (prohibition of torture) and Art. 5 (right to liberty and security) of Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

As reported by The Journalist, Sentsov was diagnosed with heart failure and rheumatism.
