Ihor Petrashko hold interdepartmental meeting on industrial visa-free regime

February 1, 2021, an interdepartmental meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy on the preparation for the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA), chaired by the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Energy, the State Food and Consumer Service, the State Energy Efficiency Agency, the National Accreditation Agency, State Enterprise “Ukrmetrteststandart”, State Enterprise UkrNDNC. The Journalist reported with reference to the press center of the Minister of Economic Development.

“The conclusion of an “industrial visa-free regime” is one of the key priorities of the President and the Government. The agreement will open up huge new opportunities for Ukrainian producers and exporters. Therefore, the preparatory work for the conclusion of the Agreement is extremely important and requires maximum coordination of efforts of all parties involved,” said Minister Ihor Petrashko.

As a result of the meeting, was formed a Working Group to participate in the negotiation process with European experts on the conclusion of the ACAA Agreement, which will be approved by the relevant order of the Ministry of Economy.

Recall that on October 29, 2020, a preliminary assessment mission by EU experts began on the readiness of the Ukrainian quality infrastructure for the conclusion of the ACAA Agreement. Fifteen online meetings have already been held.

The first priority sectors of industrial products for “industrial visa-free regime” are defined: low-voltage electrical equipment, electromagnetic compatibility of equipment, machinery.

“For the first time in 15 years, we see active and productive cooperation in the direction of “industrial visa-free” which is getting closer to us every day. Much work has already been done, much is still ahead. But the screening and legislative basis that is now being created for the first three product sectors will become the foundation for covering all types of Ukrainian industry in the future,” the minister added.

It is planned that after the next meetings of the preliminary assessment mission during February-March, Ukraine will receive a report, which will begin a new important stage for the signing of agreement.
