Key creditor of Ukraine, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), is ready to continue cooperation with the new Ukrainian government after its formation and after the parliamentary elections.
This was stated by the head of the IMF Director of the Communications Department, Gerry Rice, at a traditional briefing in Washington, answering a question about his readiness to continue cooperation with Ukraine after President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada and his proposal to the Cabinet of Ministers to resign.
“We do not comment on political processes in any country. But as I just said, as soon as a new government will be formed after the elections, we are still ready to resume discussions on cooperation with Ukraine,” UNIAN quotes Mr Gerry Rice, as saying.
According to the representative of the IMF, the mission continues its work in Kyiv in accordance to the schedule and negotiates with the Ukrainian government regarding the implementation of reforms.
“The mission is currently in Kyiv and is conducting constructive negotiations with the authorities regarding the ongoing reforms and, of course, the past elections,” Rice said.
As The Journalist reported, Zelensky will meet with IMF mission representatives next week.
