Inflation rate up in Ukraine: vegetables, transportation, gas and sewerage services rose in price

Inflation in Ukraine in April 2019 in annual terms (compared with April 2018) stood at 8.8%, accelerating from 8.6% in annual terms a month earlier.

As reported on the website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, prices rose in April against the previous month by 1% after rising by 0.9% in March against February.

Compared with December 2018, consumer prices in April rose by 3.4%.

According to the State Statistics Service, the highest price increase in annual terms was recorded for vegetables (47.1%), railway passenger transport (28.9%), road passenger transport (24.6%), sewage services (24.2%), natural gas (22.9%).

Decline in prices was recorded for eggs (25.3%), fruits (22.5%), sugar (5.3%), fuel and oils (0.2%).

It is noted that the data are given excluding the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as the occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

As The Journalist reported, inflation in Ukraine will rise to 10% by the end of 2018 .
