Iran has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that the country ramped up the production of low-enriched uranium fourfold, the German international television and radio company DW reports.

The publication noted that the increase in production means that Iran is likely to go beyond the limits of uranium reserves established by the nuclear agreement.

The IAEA has not commented on the indicated information so far.

The representative of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Behrouz Kamalvandi, noted that within a few weeks Iran will reach the maximum permitted 300-kilograms-volume [according to the terms of the agreement] of low-enriched uranium reserves.

As The Journalist reported, Iran begins preparations to boost uranium enrichment.
