Iran stated that it would be ready to launch another artificial satellite into space in a few months. Such a statement was made after an unsuccessful launch attempt, which took place on January 15th. This is reported Reuters.

“Problems with the launch of the satellite, which remained, are secondary. In a few months they will be resolved and we will be ready for a new launch,” said President Rouhani of the country.
Iran’s actions are of concern to a number of countries, since the missile technologies used in these launches can be used to develop nuclear weapons. In particular, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the launch of an Iranian launch vehicle with its own production satellite violates the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
