Iryna Gerashchenko reproached Federica Mogherini in her reluctance to visit Donbass

The first deputy chairman of Verkhovna Rada, representative of Ukraine in humanitarian subgroup of Tripartite contact group on the settlement of the situation in Donbass, Iryna Gerashchenko said that Ukraine expected more from the European Union to protect state sovereignty.

“The European Union all this time has been pressing hard enough on Ukraine, and even in our discussions with Mingarelli (head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli-ed.) we talked that it was unfair as Ukraine changes during the war, and we are required such a reforms’ pace. But as the historical path of five years showed, Europe and Brussels were absolutely right with the demand to speed up reforms,” quotes Gerashchenko Unian.
“But at the same time, with all thanks to the fact that Europe supported the sanctions of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, we expected more in the context of protecting our sovereignty,” Gerashchenko said.
“I will allow myself to say that the EU High Representative for External Affairs and Security, Federica Mogherini, has been to Ukraine many times over the years, but she has never been to Donbas,” the parliamentarian said.
As reported by "Journalist", the delegation of European Commission for assessing aid to Donbass will visit Ukraine.
