People’s deputies of Ukraine made amendments to the bill 9036 «On Amendments to the Charters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine» with the aim of introducing a military appeal to both a man and a woman serviceman. This was reported by the author of the amendment, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Iryna Suslova.
«Last week parliament made changes in Charters of the Armed Forces on a military greeting in the first reading. Soon the words «Glory to Ukraine!», «Glory to Heroes!»will sound in our army is quite legitimate. But my attention was also attracted by other changes. The bill proposes to address the commanders «comrade (pan)». In light of the adoption of the bill 6109 on the equality of women and men in the army, I believe that such treatment should be in accordance with its spirit», Iryna Suslova is convinced.
She said that she and her colleagues, like-minded people, had made an important amendment to the second reading. Along with the appeals «comrade (pan)» use the appeal «comrade (pani)», if it is addressed to a woman.
«The appearance of a significant number of women officers and even women generals in Armed Forces of Ukraine is only a matter of time. Therefore, we must bring our military regulations in line with the new realities», Iryna Suslova noted.
