In order to prevent illegal immigration, Italy will transfer to Libya 12 coastguard vessels. This is reported by AP news agency.
Besides to above-mentioned ships, 10 extra patrol boats will be transferred to Lybia, aimed to strengthen patrolling activities on the Libyan coast. It is also noted that Italy will help Libya to train Lybian state coast guard.
Recently, on their way to Europe, several boats with illegal immigrants have turned over off the coast of Libya.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, more than 530 migrants were rescued off the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea.
