As The Journalist reported in July, around the world 118 historical temperature records were recorded.

Anomalous heat in Europe led to higher prices for natural gas and electricity. The peak demand for electricity coincided with the decline in the output of wind power stations in Germany and the suspension of a number of nuclear power plants in France. While a significant deficit is not observed, but supply disruptions are not excluded in case the heat does not subside.

In France and Germany, wholesale spot prices for electricity are already at the maximum for August marks for 10 years, writes Interfax-Ukraine. Extremely high temperatures have shown to the authorities that a shortage of electricity is possible not only in the winter but also in summer, and reserve capacity is needed.

Many European countries abandon coal-fired power plants and reduce the number of nuclear power plants, and renewable energy sources at the moment cannot provide uninterrupted supply with a sharp increase in demand.

Wind forces in the UK, Germany, Spain and Denmark in the coming week will not be enough to ensure a normal level of wind power generation. In Sweden, because of forest fires, there are power outages.
