President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko to investigate urgently the reasons for the death and injury of servicemen at the Rivnenskyi polygon and report the first results at the end of next week.
The president said this during the solemn events on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the formation of the state enterprise «Plant 410 GA» reports press service.
«I instruct to understand urgently the causes of the tragedy and to report to me next week and take measures so this will not happen again», Poroshenko said.
In addition Poroshenko demanded before the completion of the investigation not to use mortars on the exercises that could have caused the tragedy.
«I give instructions for the exercises before the end of the investigation, these mortars are not used», the president said.
This morning, July 6th, during the exercises at the Rivne polygon three people were killed and nine servicemen were injured.
Tragedy occurred during the brigade tactical exercises with live shooting. By the decision of the commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces the exercises have been suspended. The official investigation of the causes of the tragic case was assigned.
As reported by the «Journalist» for twenty-four hours the militants shelled the positions of the Supreme Armed Forces 26 times.
